The Israeli cupboard agreed yesterday to submit a “racist” legislation to the Knesset (parliament) regardless of opposition from members of the federal government coalition, Israeli media have reported. In response to the Israeli day by day, sending the so-called Citizenship Regulation to the Knesset was accredited regardless of an objection from the Meretz and Ra’am events. Parliament is anticipated to vote on the invoice this week. If handed, it will renew a ban on permits for Palestinians who marry Israeli Arabs to dwell with their spouses in Israel.

The same invoice, proposed by opposition Non secular Zionism MK Simcha Rotman, handed a vote within the Ministerial Committee for Laws final month.

Meretz celebration chief Nitzan Horowitz referred to as the choice “a breaking of the consensus guidelines” that underpin the coalition and warned it will have “future repercussions”. He warned on Saturday of a “painful response” if Shaked strikes ahead with the invoice, which he described as “a racist legislation; a legislation that discriminates in opposition to Israel’s Arab residents; a legislation that has no place in a democracy.”

Chatting with Channel 12, Horowitz added: “We’ve mentioned we can’t help this legislation. Anybody who goes in opposition to the agreements should perceive that it’ll come at a worth.”
