Ukraine asks allies to bomb Iran, Syria to cease Russia strikes – Center East Monitor

Ukraine requested its European allies to bomb targets in Iran and Syria in an effort to halt Russia’s bombing of its territory, the Guardian reported on Wednesday.

The paper mentioned it had obtained a 47-page doc submitted by Ukraine’s authorities to the G7 governments in August wherein it claimed drones utilized by Russia included Iranian manufactured weapons.

“In line with the doc, Iran has already diversified its manufacturing by way of using a Syrian manufacturing facility delivering to the Russian port of Novorossiysk however the manufacturing of drones is shifting to Russia, to the central Tartar area of Alabuga, though Tehran continues to produce the parts,” the Guardian reported.

In an effort to counter Russia’s provide of weapons, Kyiv recommended “missile strikes on the manufacturing crops of those UAVs in Iran, Syria, in addition to on a possible manufacturing website within the Russian federation.”

The doc goes on: “The above could also be carried out by the Ukrainian defence forces if companions present the required technique of destruction.”

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 and has continued its strikes on its neighbours since. The US and its European companions have imposed sanctions on Russia and supported Kyiv each financially and militarily in its effort to maintain management of its territory.
