The African Union summit has cancelled a choice to grant Israel an observer standing within the pan-African group, an Algerian supply stated on Sunday.
Algeria is taking part within the two-day AU summit, which opened within the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on Saturday.
“The summit determined to abolish the choice to grant Israel an observer standing on the AU,” the supply within the Algerian delegation was quoted as saying by the non-public Echorouk TV channel.
“The choice topped efforts by Algeria and different nations” to cancel the choice, he added.
In response to the supply, a committee was shaped of representatives of Algeria, South Africa, Senegal, Cameroon, DR Congo, Rwanda and Nigeria to make suggestions on the problem to the upcoming AU summit.

There was no affirmation but of the Algerian supply’s statements.
In July, Israel introduced that its ambassador to Ethiopia, Admasu Al-Ali, had submitted his credentials as an observer member on the AU, which was accepted unilaterally by Moussa Faki Mahamat, the Chairperson of the AU Fee.
A number of member states, significantly Algeria and South Africa, protested Mahamat’s resolution, noting that that they had not been consulted in regards to the transfer.
