Iran involved by Israel’s presence in Caucasus, FM says

Iran’s new international minister stated Wednesday that Tehran has “severe considerations” about Israel’s actions within the Caucasus area. 

Iran’s chief diplomat Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the feedback whereas in Moscow for talks together with his Russian counterpart, International Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“We definitely is not going to tolerate geopolitical change and map change within the Caucasus,” Amir-Abdollahian stated in a press briefing. “We have now severe considerations concerning the presence of terrorists and Zionists on this area.”

Israel offers important arms to Azerbaijan. In response to the Israel Hayom newspaper, Baku is contemplating shopping for Israel’s Arrow-3 missile defense system. In an extra signal of pressure between the 2 neighbors, Iranian information company Tasnim reported on Tuesday that Azerbaijan shut down a mosque within the Azerbaijani capital that was linked to Iran’s Supreme Chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
