Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has misplaced his credibility and respect among the many Arab world, an Egyptian politician mentioned yesterday.
Hassan Nafaa, political science professor at Cairo College, advised Al-Resalah information website that there was no “legitimate motive for Abbas to satisfy [Israeli Defence Minister] Gantz, at a time when the Israeli insurance policies haven’t modified and crimes in opposition to Palestinians haven’t stopped.”
“I don’t see any logic or clarification for the assembly, besides that the authority is shackled, which is a distress in itself,” Nafaa added, noting that anybody who sees Israel as an actual risk, “not respects Abbas.”
The Egyptian professor described the assembly as “surprising, illogical and incomprehensible.”
Abbas met Gantz in his home on Tuesday to allegedly focus on safety and civil issues. The Palestian factions described the transfer as a “stab on the Palestinain facet.”
