In the course of the assembly between Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi on Friday, the latter agreed to let Israel proceed its strikes in Syria, Israeli media reported.
Housing Minister Ze’ev Elkin confirmed that the 2 officers agreed to proceed implementing the deconfliction mechanism that works to forestall Israeli and Russian forces from clashing in Syria.
There have been “very vast” talks concerning the scenario in Syria geared toward “safeguarding the coordination mechanism,” Elkin shared in a press release.
Based on The Times of Israel, Elkin stated that Bennett: “Introduced his world view on methods to cease Iran’s nuclear drive and Iran’s entrenchment in Syria. It was determined to maintain insurance policies vis-à-vis Russia in place (concerning airstrikes in Syrian territory).”
“Russia is an important participant in our area, a form of neighbour for us within the north,” Bennett posted on Fb after the assembly, referring to Russia’s giant navy presence in Syria.
